Tony's Backyard - Rangitata South Reserve, Canterbury

Note: this is on the south side... between the two bridges. There are no shingle roads to travel. Turn into Rangitata Island Rd.

The camping site is within the South Rangitata fishing hut reserve (home to 113 huts). It is close to where the Rangitata River meets the sea coast.

Closest dump stations are either Temuka or Geraldine. An opportunity to explore Tony and Lyns backyard. Agate hunting, fishing (if you are lucky), and beach walks. Self contained vehicles only Power available but limited numbers.

Booking essential. Dogs only and must be kept on lead due to sanctuary.

BBQ at Tony's weather permitting. BYO meat with shared salad. But pets will need to remain in your vehicle during this time.
